Hello to all in Germany, and Ehriew too
from USA.
Hopefully this will work this time.
I tried the other day. but had problems.
I don't read German,
only speak a little bit of Spanish.
I live in Southern California, Home of many surf bands from the
60's 80's and now

I see many many shows here,. but I hear that you have a good surf scene in Germany and Europe for some surf.
I have over 1000 surf cds, and probably 200 or more are Euro bands I like them alot.

If you want to see what is going on in the USA with surf
come to www.surfguitar101.com

enjoy the Reverb, or rewerb as Ehrie said alot while here on vacation. ha ha sorry I had to say that

Hi Jeff,

i´m very glad to see you here at the german part of surfmusic! Yeah! Sorry for the discomfort loosing your comment here. The database is pretty crazy at the moment.
You know i´m a rewwerb-maniac in almost the same manner as marty.. you now, every part of my body is itching ...hahaha! :D 8)

Say hi to marty. If I ever be 50 years i want to have a party in California with exactly the same bands who plays for him.

there will be a big 5 or 6 band surf show for my Buddy Marty's 50th Birthday party.

Maybe Slacktone,
For Sure, Eliminators,Surf Kings,Outterwave,and Detonaotrs,

Mar Key West,
well , My Buddy Baja Marty, is not Marty Tippens,
but I do know Marty Tippens , and everytime I've seen him play guitar
in a trad surf band he's used a reverb tank.
So I'm not quite sure what you mean.
But for Ventures sounding stuff, that may be true as they didn't have a reverb sound. Or when he sits in on Guitar with the Insect Surfers
he uses the built in reverb of the amp, as the Insects have more of a Spaghetti Western/Link Wray sound. and only have the Reverb on about
4 or so.

Hey Fuzznsurf,
I was supposed to send you a Moby Dicks cdr right?
I lost your address.
please contact me off list with your address
at bigtikidude@yahoo.com

and I'll send that to you.

we are still waiting to put that out. But as a band we haven't played live ever, and we haven't recorded anythgin in 3 years, just a fun side project for fun, the other 3 guys have bands.
Adrien Has CHUM, and plays in the insect Surfers,
Billy plays in the Detonators, and a home studio project, Billy Blast Off
and Bill McGlynn has a Great new band called theGlasgow Tiki Shakers.
here is the link to get their killer cd.

Jeff(bigtikidude)
p.s. just saw the Why's from Japan.
2 shows, they are here for 10 or so shows, very good stuff.

Well, Marty T., Bruce D. and me once had a mini flame war on Cowabunga! where I mentioned that there's many among us European Surf musicians who can't afford a separate reverb tank; Marty T. called it blasphemy playing Surf without that device, which made me a little upset... Not really important... :)

Oh I see what you mean, yes there are bands here that also can't afford or don't want the reverb tank sound.
Not all bands want to sound like 1963 trad to a T with Sax and Reverb drip. and Iam glad It would get very boring if everybody's band sounded the same. But there is something to really be said about the Drippy sound of a reveb tank. it flows in my blood now.
ha ha
